This page was written for my sister, Kathy, several years ago. This is one of the reasons for the angel at the top of the page. She has always been our "Special Angel". She suffers from severe mental retardation and numerous physical defects. One of those defects is retinitis pigmentosa. Mother wanted to use this page to help others understand this and other problems Kathy had so they might be able to better deal with their own problems. Unfortunately, "Mama" was taken from us at the age of 71 because of breast cancer. This is only 1 of the unfinished projects she left behind. It seems so many things she wanted to do were left "unfinished". There just wasn't enough time with doing the things that came with being Daddy's wife and Mother to a "special angel", Mother to her other 2 children and Grandmother to Christine's children and Great-grandma to Christine's grandchildren as well as dealing with her own failing health. Although Mama wanted people to know about retinitis pigmentosa and the other problems Kathy had, I can't speak for her, so I am simply going to place a few informative links near the end of this page and hope that those who need information can find them useful. I wish I could help you more and maybe later, after some of the pain of loosing Mama has healed, I can devote more time to study and put some of the things here she would liked to have done herself. In the meantime, know the angel depicted above represents 2 "Special
Angels"; Kathryn and our mother, Jean Stanfield.
To meet Mama, you can find pictures and a letter here: Jean Simpson Stanfield or scroll down to the links section. She is missed more than she could ever have dreamed.
